Sent the copyedited manuscript in today for Broken, my novel coming out next May. It brings to mind a quote from Ernest Hemingway:
“The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.”

That's a great photo of the Man. Ernest. He of compact prose about bullfighting, war and fishing. But when he captured the human spirit–think "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place"–he ruled.
