Summer Sunset

Summer disappeared and I’m not sure where it went.

I can’t believe that September is almost here.
I look ahead at the next month–heck, the next few months. Lots to do. Lots that I’ll be doing. I’m both excited and nervous at the same time.
I have a new book that I’ll be promoting. The stakes are higher with this novel, so I’ll be doing everything I can, but there’s only so much one person can do. My hope is that it catches on and gets some great buzz–the wonderful word-of-mouth that helps a book sell.
I’m working on a few other projects. They might see light of day and they might not. We’ll see. That’s the creative life. It feels like I’m running a studio where some films get greenlit and some don’t.
I feel I’m still just warming up, still just beginning to see my full potential. Not to dismiss anything I’ve written up to this point–not at all. Every book I write is a part of me, warts and all. But every experience in life and every novel I journey with help me learn a little more about myself. And hopefully that knowledge (the thing some people call wisdom) might just help me one day make something ordinary into something magical.
I still got a long way to go . . .
