I Wouldn’t Change A Single Thing

Today I finished the first draft of a love story I’ve been working on for the past few months and that I started last June. I think it’s the best premise of any story I’ve ever had and the final result is beautiful. Yes it’s messy and surely needs work but the story is finished.

This is what I love about writing–the raw getting-it-out. Editing and rewriting and marketing and selling are all fine and wonderful, but the emotional work of writing is what I love.
I always desire to be moved at the end of each story I’m writing, and this one didn’t disappoint. And I really can’t wait to share it with others in the future.
Happy Easter weekend to you.

  1. Congrats on baby number 10. Ten, man! That’s amazing.

And even better, congrats on finding the rhythm of allowing those stories flow through you onto paper. (OK, first onto your laptop screen, but eventually onto paper.) It is an amazing process, isn’t it?

  2. Thanks, Michelle. It never ceases to get dull, because life is never dull. There’s always an emotion and a story that fills me that is dying to get out. I love the writing process.
